Bakken Bears wins Danish Cup
Bakken Bears are celebrating winning the Danish Cup after overcoming Horsens IC in the showpiece final, running out comfortable winners. The Bears decided the final in style, claiming an 83-66 victory on the back of 24 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists from Shawn Glover (201 cm, ORU).
The victory marked the eighth time the Bears have won the Danish Cup, their first silverware in the competition since 2013.
The game was rarely in doubt after Bakken Bears dominated the first half, starting with a 17-10 lead through the first quarter. In the second frame the Bears added another 27 points and kept Horsens to 18 points for a cruising 44-28 lead through the long break. Horsens finally clicked in the third act and plundered 27 points to reduce the deficit to 15 points through thirty minutes, 70-55. However, the Bears picked it up again in the fourth and romped to victory.
Shawn Glover stood out in the win, but Carles Bivia also added 17 points and Darko Jukic managed 15 points.
Marquis Addison paced the losing effort with 19 points, while Vedran Borovcanin scored 15 points for Horsens.
