Australia Bags Gold At FIBA U18 Asian Championships
Australia reigned supreme over the weekend as they took home the gold in the FIBA U18 Asian Championships. They defeated New Zealand, 72-63. China claimed the bronze trophy after defeating the Philippines 76-57.
Kody Stattman led the charge for the Boomers with 17 points, while Kyle Bowen did an excellent job with a double-double performance, with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Australia did not cruise to an easy win. After setting up an early lead after the first quarter, Australia was challenged by New Zealand in the second and third quarters to narrow the margin. The Tall Blacks leaned on Maxwell Darling who responded with a game-high 20 points and eight rebounds. Flynn Cameron and Kruz Perrott-Hunt added 16 points apiece.
