ASVEL wins French championship

Although deprived of several key players (Thomas Heurtel, Charles Kahudi, Moustapha Fall, William Howard, and Guershon Yabusele), ASVEL dominated and beat JDA Dijon (87-74) in the final of the French Jeep ELITE Championship. It is the 20th championship for ASVEL.

For JDA Dijon, the defeat was extra painful because they ranked first in the league after the regular season and also lost the cup final against ASVEL.

Dijon had a 27-20 lead in the second quarter, but ASVEL quickly turned things around and lead by 65-47 in the 29th minute. A desperate full-court press by Dijon didn’t help, and ASVEL won the third championship in the last five years under the leadership of President Tony Parker.
