Armani Milano, Zalgiris Kaunas maintain momentum in EuroLeague two-game week

Armani Milano and Zalgiris Kaunas earned crucial victories on Thursday and remained undefeated in EuroLeague two-game week.

Armani Milano endured the comeback of Anadolu Efes and registered a big road win in Istnabul (69-72).

The Italians led by as many as 17 points in the first half, but saw the Turks come back and take a six-point lead.

A 2-10 run in the final four minutes of the game, though, let Armani seal the deal and earn its second straight EuroLeague win.

Armani Milano managed to remain unbeaten in Istanbul after defeating both Fenerbahce and Anadolu Efes this week.

The visitors remained close to the top of the EuroLeague standings and improved to 9-5.

On the other hand, Anadolu Efes dropped to 7-8 after losing its third straight game.

Zalgiris Kaunas extended its winning streak in the EuroLeague to three games after crushing Fenerbahce at home (99-62).

The Lithuanians were unstoppable in the first quarter and outscored their opponents 24-7.

After that, they never looked back and cruised to an easy win at the Zalgirio Arena.

On the other hand, the Turkish powerhouse made another poor performance on both ends and continued its free fall.

Fenerbahce lost its third in a row and has won only once in the last eight EuroLeague games.

As a result, they dropped to 5-10 in the EuroLeague standings. At the same time, Zalgiris put its six-game losing streak behind and improved to 8-7.

Just like Armani, Zalgiris completed the two-game week of the EuroLeague in a perfect way.

In Athens, Panathinaikos recovered from a painful loss to Real Madrid in double overtime and returned to the winning track.

The “Greens” rallied past ALBA Berlin at home (92-69) and put an end to the Germans’ four-game winning streak.

The hosts took control from the opening tip and endured the comeback of the visitors to cruise to the victory.

A 16-0 run in the last four minutes of the game helped the “Greens” seal the deal and snap a two-game losing streak in the EuroLeague.

Panathinaikos improved to 5-9 in the EuroLeague standings, whereas ALBA dropped to 6-8, two wins behind the final playoff spot.

Round 15 of the EuroLeague comes to an end on Friday with six games, with Olympiacos vs Real Madrid and Barcelona vs Maccabi Tel-Aviv headlining the action.
