Argentina Liga A regular season roundup
Argentina’s Liga A regular season has drawn to a close with Regatas Corrientes finishing at the top of the standings with a 32-11 record. In the final game of the season Corrientes faced off against bottom team La Union Formosa but the score at the end buzzer did not reflect the gulf in the team’s league positions, with Corrientes emerging narrow winners by 78-72.
While Corrientes closed out the regular season in winning form, the rest of the top four suffered defeat. Second placed team Lanus slipped to defeat against Olympic who with their 79-74 victory also claimed 7th in the championship. It was a good final game for Argentinos, the team picked up an 86-80 win over third placed Penerol, the win left Argentinos with a 25-19 record and 5th place in the standings while Penerol secured third place with a 28-14 record.
Boca Juniors slipped from third to fourth in the last game of the regular season. The Buenos Aires giants lost to Quimsa by 82-79, but nevertheless they joined Penerol, Lanus, and winners Corrientes as automatic places for the quarter final round of games.
Before the quarter finals stage can progress the teams taking up the league positions from 5th to 12th will play each other in the 1/8 series. The scheduled games as are follows:

The four teams that finished at the bottom of the Liga A standings will play in best of five series games to decide who stays in the league, those games are as follows:
