Another title for Bakken Bears

Yesterday Bakken Bears beat Horsens on the road with 96-87 and won the final series of the Danish league with 4-2. It is the fifth time in a row and the 19th in total that Bakken Bears is crowned Danish Champion.

With Thursday’s championship victory, there is also an end to an era. The Bakken Bears say goodbye to their successful coach Steffen Wich. He has been part of the club in various roles for more than 30 years.

Wich quits as head coach to become a local politician. He will be running for the local elections in November for the Social Democrats. However, he will continue to be part of the organization in the Bakken Bears.

With Wich on the sidelines as head coach, the Bears have won 13 Danish championships and delivered great results in the European tournaments – including semi-finals of the FIBA ​​Europe Cup in both 2018 and 2020.
