Andrew Warren signs with Wellington
The Wellington Saints (New Zealand, NBL) has bolstered its roster with Andrew Warren (195 cm, Bradley’10) and Mike Homik (204 cm, Albertson College of Idaho’02).
Guard Andrew Warren gained some media coverage last year thanks to his impersonations of Barack Obama (see below) but he will be looking to kick-start his career after a stuttering 2012-2013 season. The 25-year old has found game time hard to come by after he started the season with a Napoli (Italy, Lega 2) team that went bankrupt in October 2012. He will now be looking to bring his reputation as a speedy player with good outside shooting back to the court with the Wellington Saints.
Interestingly the other newcomer to the Saints is Mike Homik, the New Zealand born forward who retired at the start of 2012 to concentrate on being a stunt double for Gandalf on the Hobbit movie. The 34-year old is back in Basketball and will assume his position on the roster for the Saints.
