Anadolu Efes Celebrate 2018 Turkish SuperCup
Fans of Turkish basketball are ready and primed for the 2018-19 season. Two top clubs met face to face and contested the 2018 Turkish Supercup yesterday. The President’s Cup was hoisted for the 11th time by Anadolu Efes. It’s the traditional meeting of defending league champion and the Turkish Cup champion. Anadolu Efes edged out Fenerbahce Istanbul to win the game 65-62.
There was a festive atmosphere in Ankara as the game marked the approaching tip-off of the 2018-19 season. The game was tightly contested by both sides and the score swung in favor of either team back and forth. Fenerbahce wound up holding onto a two-point lead at the end of the first half.
Anadolu Efes rallied in the third quarter and they took control of the game from there. Fenerbahce would bounce back in the fourth quarter but Anadolu was able to hold on for the win.
The victors were led by Dogus Balbay and Adrien Moerman who dropped 13 points, apiece.
Now that the confetti has hit the ground. It’s time for the real work to begin, the 2018-19 regular season.
