Ali Traore to play for Alba Berlin
Frenchman Ali Traore (207 cm, Southern Idaho’00) is set to play for Alba Berlin from Germany’s BBL. Traore suffered an injury and did not pass his physical exam of Red Star Belgrade from Serbia. As a result, his contract with the team was dissolved.
Prior to the contract signing with Red Star, Traore played a season and some change in Russia for Lokomotiv Kuban (PBL). In the 2011-12 season he played 21 games for Lokomotiv in the VTB League and averaged 11.8 ppg and 4.4 rpg. He also played 13 games for them in the EuroCup and managed averages of 15.3 ppg and 7.1 rpg. In the home Russian League, Traore participated in 20 games and averaged 11.8 ppg and 5.2 rpg. He parted ways with the team in December 2012, but before he left he played one game for them in the PBL, scoring four points and grabbing two rebounds. He also played one game for them in the VTB League and tallied 10 points and five boards.
