Aleksandar Marelja signed by Antwerp

The Telenet Giants Antwerp (Belgium-Euromillions League) have strengthened their roster for the upcoming season with the addition of Aleksandar Marelja (207 cm). He is a 24-year-old Serbian international basketball player who has had previous experience playing in the Belgian league in 2014 to 2016.

Aleksandar’s 2016-17 season began back home in Serbia where he suited up for KK Vrsac Swisslion (Serbia-KLS). In 11 games he recorded averages of 18.2 ppg and 7.0 rpg. Marelja moved to Mega Leks (Serbia-KLS) in December 2016. He played four games for Mega Leks in the Basketball Champions League where he averaged 8.5 ppg and 2.8 rpg. In 10 ABA League games, Aleksandar posted averages of 6.8 ppg and 3.8 rpg. In March 2017 the player found a fresh start with Betis Energia Plus Sevilla (Spain-Liga Endesa), where would finish off the season. He played eight games for the Spanish club and averaged 2.1 ppg and 1.4 rpg.
