Aleksandar Kesar fired as BC Azovmash head coach

Aleksandar Kesar has had his contract terminated as head coach of BC Azovmash (Ukraine-Superleague), as reported on the team’s website today. Kesar was hired by the club to take over the coaching duties at the beginning of the season. Sergei Zavalin has been announced as the new head coach effective immediately. Zavalin is a long-time assistant for Azovmash and was promoted to interim head coach in Feb, 2010 for the remainder of the season. He played professionally in Europe for 10 seasons, the last even with Shakhtyer Donetsk.
