Aleks Maric signed by Buducnost
The next stop in the professional journey of Aleks Maric (211 cm, Nebraska’08) will be KK Buducnost Voli Podgorica (Montenegro-Erste Liga) this 2015/16. Aleks is a 30-year-old Australian player who was a former member of the Australian national team in 2006, and 2009 to 2012. He last played for Herbalife Gran Canaria 2014 (Spain-Liga Endesa), where he played seven games and averaged 4.1 ppg and 3.7 rpg. He began the 2014/15 season playing for Maccabi Electra Tel-Aviv (Israel-Winner League). He played eight games for them in the Euroleague and averaged 2.3 ppg and 2.3 rpg. In six games in the Israeli league Maric averaged 3.2 ppg and 3.8 rpg.
In December 2014 Aleks signed with Galatasaray Liv Hospital Istanbul (Turkey-TBL). His role with the team was minimal and he saw very little time on the floor. He played three games in the Turkish league and seven games in the Euroleague. Maric then later penned with Petrochimi Bandar Imam Harbour (Iran-Superleague). He played eight games for the Iranian club and averaged 9.3 ppg and 6.9 rpg.
