Akeem Wright released by BdR Valladolid
Akeem Wright (198 cm, Kansas State’07) and Spanish Liga Endesa club Blancos de Rueda Valladolid have officially parted ways. Wright joined the team to start the 2013-14 season and was able to log seven games with them. In that brief run Wright hit averages of 7.0 ppg and 4.4 rpg. The 28-year-old Wright had originally planned to play for the Windsor Express from Canada’s NBL, but has opted for the Spanish team instead.
In 2012-13 Akeem began with Elitzur Ramla from Israel’s National League. He played five games for them and averaged 13.2 ppg and 11.0 rpg, before transferring to Maccabi Kiryat Gat, also from the same league. He was more productive offensively with his new team and averaged 21.7 ppg and 7.1 rpg. In February 2013 he made his way to Canada to play for the Halifax Rainmen (NBL). In nine games in the Canadian league he hit averages of 15.1 ppg and 8.0 rpg.
