Akeem Wright now with BdR Valladolid
Spanish Liga Endesa team Blancos de Rueda Valladolid has added Akeem Wright (200 cm, Kansas State’07) to their roster for 2013-14. The 28-year-old Wright had originally planned to play for the Windsor Express from Canada’s NBL, but has opted for the Spanish team instead.
In 2012-13 Akeem began with Elitzur Ramla from Israel’s National League. He played five games for them and averaged 13.2 ppg and 11.0 rpg, before transferring to Maccabi Kiryat Gat, also from the same league. He was more productive offensively with his new team and averaged 21.7 ppg and 7.1 rpg. In February 2013 he made his way to Canada to play for the Halifax Rainmen (NBL). In nine games in the Canadian league he hit averages of 15.1 ppg and 8.0 rpg.
From there he moved on to New Zealand and played for the Otago OceaGold Nuggets. There he notched averages of 20.9 ppg and 8.4 rpg in 17 games.
