Ahmad Nivins let go by Orleans
Ahmad Nivins (206 cm, St. Joseph’s ’09) is being released by Entente Orleans (France-Pro A). The departure for Nivins comes after playing in 17 games. He averaged 4.5 ppg and 2.2 rpg in a career-low 13.2 mpg. The fit was not an ideal one for the French big man as he has shown the ability to perform at a high level in the Pro A. In the 2014/2015 season, Nivins played with Asvel Lyon (France-Pro A) where he scored 13.6 ppg with 5.5 rpg. The French league awarded him with a spot on the All-French Pro A 1st Team that season.
Nivins has played in the Pro A since the 2012/2013 season. Then, he debuted with Union Poitiers (France-Pro A) and found plenty of playing time with 30.3 mpg for the season. He moved to Elan Bearnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez (France-Pro A) the next season and continued playing well. Now the big man is a free agent after struggling to make it on an Orleans team that is in last place in the French league standings. Nivins might be looking to join a lower league after struggling over the last two years.
