7DAYS EuroCup: Andorra and Limoges win
Two games opened the fourth week of 7DAYS EuroCup Regular Season action, with the rest of the round set to conclude on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the 7DAYS EuroCup spotlight was on Group A and Group C, and particularly on two contests. There were two home wins on the night as MoraBanc Andorra completely outplayed Levallois and Limoges outlasted Partizan Belgrade.
Group A
MoraBanc Andorra vs. Levallois Metropolitans, 79-61
Spanish clubs Andorra thumped Levallois at home to collect its first win of the 7DAYS EuroCup season in style. The loss left Levallois without a victory on the continent this season (0-4). The hosts scored well in the first quarter and moved to a 22-16 lead as a result. In the second frame, Andorra continued to control the game and used a 19-12 run to make it 41-38 through the long break. Another 19 points followed in the third act as the home team extended to 60-42. For a third straight frame, Andorra drained 19 points in the fourth act and cruised to victory.
David Walker and Moussa Diagne scored 12 points apiece in the win, while Jamie Fernandez added 11 points.
Gavin Ware collected a game-high 14 points in the loss, followed by Maxime Roos on 11 points.
Group C
Limoges CSP vs. Partizan Belgrade, 92-83
French champions Limoges collected a victory in front of its home fans to move to 2-2 in Group C, while leaving Partizan nursing a 1-3 record. The teams both played well, but Limoges just had the legs, starting with a 22-18 first quarter. The scoring picked up in the second frame, but the hosts took it 25-23 to lead 47-41 through halftime. In the third quarter, the high scoring continued as Partizan finally took charge with a 24-27 run. Through thirty minutes, Limoges led 71-68, but Partizan had the momentum. However, the visitors could not carry it as Limoges roared to success with a 21-15 fourth.
Axel Bouteille scored 21 points to lead the French team, followed by Mam Jaieth with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Danny Gibson secured 12 points in the victory.
Patrick Miller drained 17 points in the losing effort, while Vanja Marinkovic scored 14 points.
