2017 U19 World Cup groups drawn
The countries participating in the 2017 U19 World Cup now know how they will be lining up at the start of the tournament after the official draw was held in Cairo, Egypt today.
Egypt is the host nation of the 2017 U19 World Cup and the competitions will run from July 1st through July 9th. The USA enters the tournament as the overwhelming favourites and as two-time defending champion after its success in 2013 and 2015.
This is the first competition to go under the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup moniker after the governing body changed the name from its previous FIBA U19 World Championship. The groups are listed below, and you may notice an anomaly as there is just three nations in Group C. This is due to the suspension of the Brazilian Basketball Federation.
FIBA says it will announce a fourth nations to compete from the Americas soon.
