2015 All-Star Game to be co-hosted

The NBA has confirmed that the 2015 All-Star Game will be co-hosted by the New York Knicks and the Brooklyn Nets putting an end to previous speculation. The two New York based franchises have been locked in a summer-long war of words that actually amounts to no more than a bit of brinksmanship and media courting.

The Knicks but mostly Nets small forward Paul Pierce (201 cm, Kansas´98) have engaged in a war of words over which is the real New York franchise. This amusing sideshow was ramped up a gear when speculation grew that the NBA would let both franchises co-host the 2015 All-Star Game. The New York and national press was debating the issue and today the NBA stepped forward and confirmed.

“The 64th NBA All-Star Game will be played at Madison Square Garden, home of the New York Knicks, on Sunday, Feb.15. The BBVA Rising Stars Challenge, Sprint NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and State Farm All-Star Saturday Night—Including the Sears Shooting Stars, Taco Bell Skills Challenge, Foot Locker Three-Point Contest and Sprite Slam Dunk—will be held at Barclays Center, home of the Brooklyn Nets.”
